Do different parts of the world experience day and night at the same time? Why do parts of the Earth have seasons? What are days and nights like at the north and south poles? 

Which direction does the Sun rise in? Why does it get dark at night? Are days in the winter longer or shorter than days in the summer?

Have you ever looked at the stars at night and imagined pictures in them? Long, long ago, other people did the same! They named groups of stars after animals and characters from their stories.

Astronomers use light to study things in space. Objects like planets, stars and galaxies all emit or reflect light.
