The laws of physics control every object in space. People whose work is to study space are known as astrophysicists due to how connected this branch of science is with looking up. Physics is the study of how matter and energy behave. It looks at how objects interact, the forces that control them, and the underlying laws describing how the physical world works. Physics covers a wide range of scales, from the smallest particles to the vast structures of the Universe

How do we measure things in space? How do things move? Where does energy come from? Explore this section to learn more about gravity, light, matter, and much more.

An image of 2 magnets with the north poles facing each other, with iron filings tracing out the magnetic field. Then in the centre is an image of a red spiral against a black background. The final image shows an atom with electrons spiining around it.
